A large section of main road without a cycle lane - incredibly dangerous with many near misses.
There should be a consistent cycleway from around the railway station in Witham to the Maltings estate, one option is along Newland Street.

This is a very narrow road with several large potholes at the edges which mean that cyclists are having to swerve into the path of traffic to avoid them.
Reduce speed limit (currently 60mph) and put up cycling signs
Used by cyclist crossing between Great Tey & Coggeshall. 50 mph speed limit is too fast and needs reducing to 40 mph. Also frequent accidents and subsidence on this road. A lower speed limit would benefit vehicle safety as well.

There is a token bit of cycle lane that feeds onto a very dangerous bit of road that comes of a roundabout where traffic travels far too fast and hardly ever indicate so you have no idea what is going on. There is literally no safe way to

Lack of signage and the separation of cyclists and pedestrians has deteriorated. The paths should be red for cyclists and black for pedestrians but it is in very poor condition. Improved signage and resurfacing is required throughout river

Apparently this drop kerb was set by cyclists fed up with either having to dismount or bump up the kerb.
The path is a useful link to make a direct crossing of the A120.
open access to the Flitch Way near Kenworthy Road
Near Pods Brook Road, acess to the Flitch Way is only poorly obstructed.
Gate at Leyfields (street not shown on map); at least we can get through here, even if it's a hassle. This gate is the last place to exit the Flitch Way before the barriers at Warner Close (also not shown on the map)
